Approach to the circular pavilion

A circular gathering place that explores enclosure, openness and our relationship with one another.

Presented in the portfolio as Unidentified Flying Building, this study places a shared gathering space within a circular architectural boundary.

The design investigates the tension between a defined interior and an open horizon. Plans, sections and visualisations explore how a collective place can hold people together while remaining connected to its surroundings.

Design study by Denislav Sokolov (Deniz Atasoy). Drawings and visualisations from the author’s portfolio.

Form follows music.
As you move through the space, corridor becomes feminine, you become the masculine.
Invisible light is hidden in d-archness that ego does not seek.
